Alberto Albertini is currently chief of the cardiothoracic surgery division at Hesperia Hospital Modena, Italy, and adjunct professor at the University of Brescia, Italy. Prior to this he was chief of the cardiovascular surgery unit at Maria Cecilia Hospital in Cotignola, Italy between 2018 and 2022 and chief of the cardiovascular and thoracic surgery department at Salus Hospital in Reggio Emilia, Italy between 2011 and 2018. Dr. Albertini has performed more than 8000 open-heart procedures in his career, of these, over 3000 have been minimally invasive cardiac surgeries. Dr. Albertini is also involved in training surgeons across Europe and abroad in advanced and innovative techniques. He completed his training and acquired his MD and Masters’ degree in cardiovascular surgery from the University of Bologna, Italy. Thereafter, he did a 2 years clinical fellowship in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery at the Cliniques Universitaires St. Luc in Bruxells, Belgium. His areas of interest are minimally invasive coronary and heart valve surgery, complex aortic arch surgery, aortic reconstructive surgery.
