Giuseppe Astori graduated in Biological Sciences at the University of Trieste, Italy (1990). In 1997 he obtained his Ph.D. in Microbiology and Virology. He worked as research fellow at the German Cancer Center, Heidelberg. From 1998 to 2006 he joined the R&D department at Dideco-Sorin Group as Senior Scientist. Thereafter, he joined Cardiocentro Ticino, Switzerland where he was appointed Qualified Person of the GMP facility. Under his direction, the facility was accredited, first in Switzerland, for the production of Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products. In 2010, he joined the Advanced Cellular Therapy Laboratory (LTCA) of the Vicenza Hospital as Qualified Person. His main interests are mesenchymal stromal cells and adoptive immunotherapy. Giuseppe was formerly EU Regional Secretary of the International Society of Cellular Therapy (ISCT) and ISCT Representative to the JACIE Board.
