Antonio Amodeo

Antonio Amodeo is a consultant cardiothoracic surgeon in the Department of Paediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery at Ospedale Bambino Gesu, Rome. This hospital is the largest paediatric hospital and research centre in Europe. Dr Amodeo was the first surgeon to successfully implant an artificial mini-heart into a child and was a turning point in congenital heart surgery.
