Tom Karl is a pediatric cardiac surgeon with over 30 years of diverse experience, working in several different Children’s Hospitals in Australia and the USA. He is currently Professor of Surgery at Johns Hopkins University, and Associate Editor for European Journal of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (Congenital Section) and Cardiology in the Young (Humanitarian Initiatives). He works in developing regions with Chain of Hope, International Children’s Heart Foundation, and the Heart Trust. He has been involved in the training of over 50 young pediatric cardiac surgeons. Tom is a member of EACTS, AATS, CHSS, and STS.
