Suzanne Kats is staff member and deputy head of the department of cardio-thoracic surgery at the Maastricht University Medical centre (MUMC+), the Netherlands. She is the head of the training programme for cardio-thoracic surgeons in Maastricht. She finished her training in cardio-thoracic surgery in 2009 in the Catharina Hospital in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. In 2011 she completed her PhD on the prevention of endotoxin release during cardiopulmonary bypass. Her clinical interests in adult cardio-thoracic surgery are transcatheter heart interventions and sutureless valves.
