Johannes Holfeld graduated from Medical University of Vienna (MD). He was a visiting research assistant with nobel laureate Prof. Ferid Murad at the Cell Signaling Center, Brown Foundation Institute of Molecular Medicine, University of Texas. Johannes is a full-time clinician and staff surgeon at the University Clinic of Cardiac Surgery, where he heads the outpatient department for surgical heart failure therapy. He is the founder and head of CARE – Cardiac Regeneration Research Group at Innsbruck Medical University (www.carelab.at). He develops shockwave therapy for myocardial regeneration and is an organiser of the Basic Research Meetings of the International Society of Medical Shockwave Therapy (ISMST).
