Robert Cesnjevar
Robert Anton Cesnjevar graduated in 1992 as a medical doctor at the University Erlangen, Germany. He graduated as a cardiac surgeon in 1998. Robert Anton Cesnjevar focused himself early on congenital heart disease and was trained in London at the Harley Street clinic in 1996 and at Great Ormond Street Hospital in 1999 and 2000. He became chief of the congenital cardiac department at the University Hospital Hamburg in 2005 and returned to Erlangen as Professor and head of the new Department of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery, in 2008. Since 2021, he is the Head of the Department of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery at the University Childrens Hospital in Zurich, Switzerland and Professor at the local Faculty of Medicine. His areas of interest and expertise is about surgical management of congenital cardiac lesions with a major focus on complex repairs.
