Anja Peterbauer received her undergraduate training in microbiology graduating in 1999 (MSc) and did her PhD in molecular biology (2013) at University of Innsbruck. From 1998 to 2009 she worked as research associate at the Institute for Medical Chemistry and Biochemistry, Department of Molecular Cell Biology at University of Innsbruck, at Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Experimental and Clinical Traumatology, Department Linz and at Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service of Upper Austria, Linz. From 2009 to 2014 she was (Deputy) Head of Production in the Blood and Tissue Bank and since 2016 she is Head of Innovation at Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service of Upper Austria, Linz where she is responsible for developing new cell and tissue based products.
